Shortened Agenda for Deputation
Fingal County Council requested the original version of the Deputation Agenda to be shortened. The following is the shortened version that was used for the Deputation on the 9th April 2015:
AGENDA FOR DEPUTATION MEETING TO BE HELD WITH
BALBRIGGAN COMMUNITY COUNCIL
ON THURSDAY 9th APRIL 2015
IN THE FINGAL COUNTY HALL (2.15 p.m. to 2.55 p.m.)
PLANNING & STATEGIC INFRASTRUCTURE
Can support be provided for granting Heritage/Cultural status to the town centre?
Does Fingal County Council have a proposed plan/vision for the future development of the town centre?
PLANNING & STATEGIC INFRASTRUCTURE/OPERATIONS:
Is the Public Realm Plan still valid and how can some of the more worthy points be pushed to implementation?
There is no town park of any quality. Can a study be put together that investigates the possibility of a town park in the overgrown waste area behind DeBrun’s. Can the study include improving the current park that runs along the Bracken river from the new pumping station down to the bridge over the river with a view to making it more suitable as a family type park?
Can resources be allocated to weeding and cleaning at all the major entrances into the town, including roundabouts at Dublin Street, the Naul and Drogheda Street?
A number of very mature and well-loved trees have been felled recently in various estates through the town. Can Fingal County Council please involve the tidy towns and residence when felling trees in the future?
Dog fouling is a terrible problem throughout the town, especially in the park and on the beach. Can dog fouling be better enforced through better policing?
Balbriggan Community Council in conjunction with the Tidy Towns are currently engaging with Balbriggan residents in order to encourage public participation in maintaining and improving the towns image. Could we get support from Fingal County Council with promoting competitions that promote best/cleanest housing estate, shop front, and club house?
